After a long absence, It Came From a Thrift Store! has risen from its grave with more awesome thrift store finds. What did we find this week?
This week’s Blu-ray and DVD release highlights include Kingsman: The Secret Service, Knights of Sidonia, Red Army, and The Last Ship.
The last couple weeks have been pretty good for board game fans with several new releases getting very good early reviews. Here’s a complete list of all of the games released and some of my thoughts on them.
The New Yorker: Cartoon Caption Game made some poor rules decisions but the game is still quite a bit of fun and can be very funny.
Dumb laws are funny to read but the concept should have stuck to web sites and books, not turned into a far below average trivia game like Real Dumb Laws.
Catchword is an interesting combination of word, card, and dice games but there are far too many poor rules to warrant a recommendation.
While Twisted Fish adds a few more elements to the classic game of Go Fish, the changes aren’t enough for the game to even earn an average rating.
Zero could have been a great trivia game but due to some gameplay issues, it only winds up as an average filler game for trivia fans.
For an older game, War of the Networks was way ahead of its time. While not perfect, it is definitely worth a look if you can find it.
