Setup

Playing Burping Bobby

To begin your turn you will choose one of the types of food in the game. You can either choose garlic, onion, soda, cheese, pizza, or beans. You will announce your choice to the other players.

Next you will choose one of the facedown food tokens and reveal it.

If you picked a token that matched the food you chose, you will keep the token. The token scores you points at the end of the game.

Picking the right food
Before flipping over a token, this player chose pizza. Since they revealed a pizza, they will keep the token. It is worth three points at the end of the game.

If the token you chose does not match the food you chose, you will have to feed the token to Burping Bobby. First look at the number printed on the tile. This number indicates how many times you will have to turn the crank.

Picking the wrong food
This player chose pizza. They ended up picking a cheese token. Since they picked the wrong food, they will have to feed the token to Burping Bobby.

Open the hippo’s mouth and insert the token on top of its tongue. Then close the mouth. You will turn the crank a number of turns equal to the number printed on the token you fed the hippo.

Feeding a token to Burping Bobby
The player placed the token inside Burping Bobby’s mouth.
Turning the crank
After feeding Bobby the two cheese token, the player turns the crank two times.

Whether you kept the token or fed it to the hippo, your turn ends. Play passes to the next player clockwise.

Winning the Game

Burping Bobby ends when the hippo burps. Whichever player made the hippo burp (the last to turn the crank) has to discard their highest valued food token.

Discard food token after burp
This player was responsible for making Bobby burp. They have to discard the highest valued food token they collected during the game.

Each player then counts up the points printed on the tokens they collected throughout the game. The player that earned the most points wins the game. If no one has any points, Burping Bobby wins. If there is a tie, all tied players share the victory.

Winning Burping Bobby
During the game the players collected these food tokens from guessing correctly. The players scored 5, 3, and 1 point. The top player scored the most points so they won the game.

To play another game close the hippo’s mouth. Open up the hatch on the back and remove all of the tokens. Mix up all of the tokens and play another game in the same way as the previous game.

When you are done playing the game you will remove both ears from the hippo. Turn it upside down so the remaining water runs out.
