Objective for UNO Disney 100
The objective of UNO Disney 100 is to play all of the cards from your hand before the other players.
Setup for UNO Disney 100
- Choose a player to be the dealer. They will shuffle all of the cards together.
- The dealer deals seven cards face down to each player. You can look at your own cards, but you shouldn’t show them to the other players.
- Place the remaining cards facedown in the center of the table to form the Draw Pile.
- Flip over the top card from the Draw Pile and place it next to the Draw Pile face up. This card is the beginning of the Discard Pile. If the card you flipped over is an Action card, you will ignore its effect and flip over the next card from the Draw Pile.
- The player to the left of the dealer starts the game. Play moves clockwise/left to start the game.
Playing UNO Disney 100
On your turn you will try to play a card from your hand to the Discard Pile. To play a card it has to match one of the following criteria:
If you have a card in your hand that matches one or more of those criteria, you can play it to the Discard Pile. If you played an Action card (anything other than a number card), you will take a special action. For details check out the corresponding section below. Play will then pass to the next player in turn order.
Should you have a card in your hand that you can play, you can choose not to play it. In this case you will treat the rest of your turn like you didn’t have a card in your hand that you could play.
If you do not have a card that you can play to the Discard Pile, you will draw the top card from the Draw Pile. If this new card can be played, you can play it immediately. This new card is the only one that you can play, even if you have another card in your hand that you can play. Otherwise you will add the card to your hand.
If the Draw Pile ever runs out of card, you will shuffle the Discard Pile to form a new Draw Pile.
After you have drawn a card and either played it or added it to your hand, your turn ends. Play passes to the next player in turn order.
Cards of UNO Disney 100
Number cards do not have any special action in the game. You may only play a number card if it matches the color or number of the top card on the Discard Pile.
Draw Two (+2)
When you play a Draw Two (+2) card, the next player in turn order has to draw two cards from the Draw Pile. The next player also loses their turn.
You can play a Draw Two on top of another Draw Two or on a card that matches its color. You cannot play a Draw Two card on another Draw Two card to avoid having to draw the two cards.
A Reverse card changes the direction of play. If turn order was passing clockwise, it will now pass counterclockwise. If it was moving counterclockwise, it will now pass clockwise.
Reverse cards can be played on top of other Reverse cards or on cards that match their color.
When a Skip card is played, the next player in turn order loses their turn.
You can play a Skip card on top of another Skip card or on cards that match its color.
A Wild Card matches every other card in the game. Therefore you can play it at any time. When you play a Wild card, you will choose the color for the Discard Pile. You can choose any of the four colors. This includes keeping the color the same as it was before you played the Wild card.
Wild Draw Four (+4)
The Wild Draw Four (+4) card can be played on any card since it is wild. There is one exception though. You can only play a Wild Draw Four if you have no cards in your hand that match the current color of the Discard Pile. Wild cards count as matching the color of the Discard Pile.
Since the Wild Draw Four is wild, you will choose the color of the Discard Pile. You can choose any of the four colors including the color it was before you played the Wild Draw Four.
When you play the Wild Draw Four the next player in turn order has a decision to make.
First they can accept the play of the card. In this case they will draw four cards from the Draw Pile and they will lose their turn.
Challenging a Wild Draw Four
Otherwise they could choose to challenge you playing the Wild Draw Four.
If they choose to challenge your play of a Wild Draw Four, you must show them your entire hand. They will check the cards in your hand to see if you played the Wild Draw Four (+4) correctly. They will compare the cards against the color of the Discard Pile before you played the Wild Draw Four.
If you do not have any cards in your hand that match the Discard Pile’s color, you played the card correctly. Due to the failed challenge, the challenger now has to draw six cards (instead of four) and loses their next turn.
If you did have a card in your hand that matches the Discard Pile’s color, you played the card incorrectly. For playing the card incorrectly, you will have to draw four cards instead of the challenger. The challenger also doesn’t lose their next turn.
Wild Mickey Movie Madness
This card is exclusive to UNO Disney 100.
When you play a Wild Mickey Movie Madness card you will choose another player. You will then choose a movie from Disney’s first 100 years. The player you chose has to name four characters from the movie you chose. If they correctly name four characters, nothing happens. If they are unable to name four characters from the movie, they have to draw four cards from the Draw Pile.
The Wild Mickey Movie Madness card is also a Wild so you will choose the color of the Discard Pile. You can choose any of the four colors including the color it was before you played the Wild Mickey Movie Madness card.
When you only have one card left in you hand, you are close to winning the game. To alert the other players that you are close to winning, you need to call out “UNO”. You need to do this as quickly as possible.
If another player catches you not saying UNO, you have to take two cards from the Draw Pile. They must call you out for not saying UNO before the next player starts their turn.
Winning UNO Disney 100
The first player to play the last card from their hand wins UNO Disney 100.
Scoring in UNO Disney 100
If you want to play several hands of UNO Disney 100 you can choose to use the variant scoring rules.
At the end of the game the player who played all of the cards from their hand collects the cards remaining in the other players’ hands. They will earn points from these cards as follows:
- Number cards – face value
- Draw Two, Reverse, Skip – 20 points
- Wild, Wild Draw Four, Wild Mickey Movie Madness – 50 points
You will keep a running total for each player. The first player to earn 500 or more points wins the game.
