Objective of Pick-Up Pete

The objective of Pick-Up Pete is to be the first player to place all of your chairs on the moving vehicle.

Setup

  • Insert batteries into the bottom of the vehicle. To turn it on you need to turn the switch to on.
  • Each player chooses a color and takes all six of the chairs of the color they chose.
  • Once the truck starts moving, all of the players will start playing at the same time.

Playing Pick-Up Pete

Once the game starts you will try to add your chairs to Pick-Up Pete. The players do not take turns. You can add your chairs to the truck as quickly as you want.

You must place your first chair into one of the holes in the back of the truck.

Placing your first chair
The blue player placed their first chair in the back of the truck.

After you place your first chair, you can attach your other chairs however you want. You can attach them to another chair, or a different part of the truck.

Placing a second chair in Pick-Up Pete
The blue player has added their second chair to the back of the truck.

If the chair you are trying to add to the truck falls off, you have to place it on the truck again.

Should your chair knock the “whole pile” off the truck, you are eliminated from the game. The game is not specific on what knocking off the whole pile means.

Getting eliminated after knocking down the stack
One of the players knocked down all of the chairs that were placed on the truck. The player responsible is eliminated from the game.

Winning Pick-Up Pete

The first player to place all of their chairs on the truck wins the game.

Winning Pick-Up Pete

Variant Game

Instead of each player choosing a color, the players can place any color chair. Whenever a player knocks chairs off the truck, they are eliminated from the game.

The last remaining player wins the game.
