When I was a child one of my favorite video games was Lemmings. For those of you who are not familiar with the game, I would classify it as a puzzle game. You are given a group of Lemmings and the goal is to safely get them from the start to finish. The Lemmings leave the entrance and then follow a straight line until they either hit a wall, reach the exit or die. Your objective is to use the Lemmings abilities such as bridge building and digging in order to create a safe path to the exit. The fact that the Lemmings were cute helped but the thing I liked most about Lemmings when I was a child was that it was a challenging puzzle game. While I have not played a Lemmings game in many years, I still have fond memories of the game so I decided to make a Lemmings amigurumi.
The Lemmings amigurumi stands approximately five inches tall. I would classify the pattern as pretty easy as it doesn’t have a lot of pieces and mostly uses basic crochet stitches. The most time consuming part of the pattern is adding the individual hairs to the hair piece.
Note: This pattern is provided for free so I would appreciate that it not be used for commercial use. You may not copy this pattern and then try to sell it. I would appreciate that this pattern not be copied and posted in its’ entirety on other websites. Feel free to post images of your completed works wherever you want but a link back to this page would be appreciated.

Pattern
Body
For the body you will use the dark blue yarn.
Round 1: CH x 2 (2 stitches)
Round 2: SC x 6 in the first CH (6 stitches)
Round 3: INC x 6 (12 stitches)
Round 4: | SC, INC | x 6 (18 stitches)
Rounds 5-14: SC x 18 (18 stitches)
Round 15: | SC, DEC | x 6 (12 stitches)
Round 16: DEC x 6 (6 stitches)
Fasten off leaving enough yarn to sew up the bottom of the body. Before closing the body add the desired amount of stuffing.
Head
For the head you will use the off white yarn.
Round 1: CH x 2 (2 stitches)
Round 2: SC x 6 in the first CH (6 stitches)
Round 3: INC x 6 (12 stitches)
Round 4: | SC x 2, INC, SC | x 3 (15 stitches)
Rounds 5-11: SC x 15 (15 stitches)
At this point I would add the safety eyes. Place the eyes a couple rounds from the top a couple stitches apart.
Round 12: | SC, DEC | x 5 (10 stitches)
Round 13: DEC x 5 (5 stitches)
Fasten off leaving enough yarn to sew up the head and attach it to the body. Before closing the head, add the desired level of stuffing.
Hair
For the hair you will use the light green yarn.
Round 1: CH x 2 (2 stitches)
Round 2: SC x 6 in the first CH (6 stitches)
Round 3: INC x 6 (12 stitches)
Round 4: | SC x 2, INC, SC | x 3 (15 stitches)
Round 5: | SC x 2, INC, SC x 2 | x 3 (18 stitches)
Round 6: SC x 18 (18 stitches)
Fasten off leaving enough yarn to sew the hair to the head. At this point you will have a cap.
If you want to add the individual hairs you will cut the green yarn into 1.5 to 2 inch strips. Then you will insert your crochet hook into one of the stitches. Hold both ends of a piece of yarn together to create a loop which you insert into your crochet hook. Pull the yarn through the stitch and then use a SL stitch to secure the hairs in place. Continue this process until you have added the desired amount of hair.
Arms
For the armss you will use both the off white and blue yarn. You will start with the off white yarn.
Round 1: CH x 2 (2 stitches)
Round 2: SC x 6 in the first CH (6 stitches)
Round 3: | INC, SC | x 3 (9 stitches)
Round 4: SC x 9 (9 stitches)
Round 5: | DEC, SC | x 3 (6 stitches)
Switch to the blue yarn.
Rounds 6-11: SC x 6 (6 stitches)
Fasten off leaving enough yarn to sew the arms to the body. Add the desire amount of stuffing.
Feet
For the feet you will use the off white yarn.
Round 1: CH x 2 (2 stitches)
Round 2: SC x 6 in the first CH (6 stitches)
Round 3: | 3INC, SC x 2 | x 2 (10 stitches). 3INC is the same as an INC except you use three stitches instead of two.
Round 4: | SC, INC, SC x 3 | x 2 (12 stitches)
Round 5: SC x 12 (12 stitches)
Round 6: DEC x 6 (6 stitches)
Fasten off leaving enough yarn to sew the feet to the body. Add the desired amount of stuffing to the feet.
Assembly
The first thing I did was attach the feet to the bottom of the body using the extra yarn from the feet. When attaching the feet make sure the feet extend past the front of the body.
Next I added the two arms to the sides of the body using the extra yarn from the arms.
The head is completed by sewing the hair to the back of the head using the extra yarn from the hair.
Finally attach the head to the body using the extra yarn from the head. After attaching the head you have completed the Lemmings amigurumi.
