Objective

The objective of Kids Against Maturity is to acquire the most Question cards by providing the funniest answers.

Set Up

  • Set a stack of Question and Answer cards on the table. You should keep the Question cards separate from the Answer cards.
  • Each player draws ten Answer cards and holds them in their hand. They can look at their own cards, but they shouldn’t show them to the other players.
  • The player with the hairiest knuckles starts the game as the first Question Reader.

How to Play Kids Against Maturity

The Question Reader starts each round by randomly choosing a Question card and flipping it over. They will read the card out loud.

Question card
For this round the players need to choose an Answer card that fits the phrase “I bumped by head so hard, I woke up and thought I was ____________.”

All of the players besides the Question Reader then look through the Answer cards in their hand. Each player has to choose one card from their hand to play. You can choose whatever card you want, but you should pick one that you think the Question Reader will think is funny.

Answer card
This player has decided to play the card “R2D2” to fill in the blank for the Question card above.

When you have chosen an Answer card, you will place it face down on the table.

Choosing the Best Answer

Once all of the players have played an Answer card, all of the answers will be read out. Each player can read out their own answers, or you can have one player read out all of the answers.

The Question Reader considers all of the submitted cards. They will have to choose one card that they think is best. They can choose any card that they want, but it is recommended that they pick the card that they found to be the funniest when combined with the Question card.

Picking the winning card
All of the players have played a card for the current round. The Question Reader now has to pick which of the answers they like the most.

The player that submitted the chosen Answer card, keeps the Question card as it is worth one point at the end of the game.

The players will then play another round. All of the Answer cards played in the round are discarded. The player left/clockwise of the Question Reader, becomes the reader for the next round.

Whenever a player has less than ten Answer cards in their hand, they will draw new Answer cards until they have ten again.

Winning the Game

Before the game begins the players should decide how long they want to play. You can play a certain number of rounds, for a certain amount of time, or until the players are sick of playing the game. The game recommends playing until a player has earned five Question cards.

When the game ends, all of the players will count up how many Question cards they acquired in the game. The player with the most Question cards wins the game.

Winning Kids Against Maturity
The players have decided to play until one of the players acquire five Question cards. This player has five cards, so they will win the game.

This is mostly meant as a joke, but the rules say that the player with the least Question cards should give the player with the most cards an “automatic wedgie”.
