Objective of Ka-Blab!
The objective of Ka-Blab! is to quickly name words that match the current category in order to not be stuck with the bomb when it goes off.
Setup
- Insert batteries into the bottom of the bomb.
- Shuffle the cards.
- Place a stack of cards in front of each player. The stacks should be of similar sizes, but they don’t need to have the exact same number of cards.
- Each player takes three tokens. Any remaining tokens are returned to the box.
- Place the bomb timer in the middle of the table.
- The youngest player will start the game. Give them the dice.
Playing Ka-Blab!
Ka-Blab! is played in rounds. To start each round the fuse on the bomb is pulled upwards. This will start a timer and the round will begin. As the game uses a timer, players try to finish their turn as quickly as possible.
You will begin your turn by rolling the three dice. What you end up rolling determines what you will do on your turn.
If you roll the skip symbol or all blank sides, you will end your turn immediately. You will pass the dice to the next player in clockwise order.
If you roll at least one number and don’t roll the skip symbol, you will have to play your turn. Add up all of the numbers you rolled. This determines how many things that you will have to name.
Next turn over the top card from your card stack. The card will feature a phrase. This is the category that you will have to use for the rest of your turn (until you pass the dice to the next player). You will have to list things that match this category. The number of things you need to list depends on the numbers you rolled.
Once you have named the required number of things, you will roll every dice that you previously rolled a number on. If any of these new dice have numbers on them, you need to provide more answers for your current category.
This continues until all of your dice are blank, or you rolled a skip symbol. You will then pass the dice to the next player clockwise (left).
End of Round
The round ends when the timer goes off. The player who is currently taking their turn will lose the round. They will lose one of their tokens.
If a player should lose their last token, they are eliminated from the game.
A player’s turn is not over until they have passed all of the dice to the next player. If the timer goes off and you are in the process of passing the dice, you will still lose a token.
The player to the left of the player that lost the round, starts the next round.
End of Ka-Blab!
The game ends once all but one of the players have been eliminated from the game. The last player remaining wins Ka-Blab!.
