Playing Operation X-Ray Match Up

To begin your turn you will press Cavity Sam’s nose. This will start a timer. The players take turns in Operation X-Ray Match Up. During your turn you want to play as quickly as you can so you can acquire more ailment cards.

Starting the Game
The current player has pressed the nose button to turn on the game unit. The current player will now try to find as many matches as they can before their time runs out.

You will take the top card from the ailment pile and turn it face up in front of you. The card will feature two images that you are looking for.

Ailment Card in Operation X-Ray Match Up
The current player has drawn their first ailment card. It features a loaf of bread and a broken bone. This player will be looking for one of these two symbols from the X-Ray cards.

You will then choose one of the X-ray cards and place it on top of the X-ray scanner. You should place it so the bluish green side is face up. The light on the X-ray scanner will reveal a hidden image on the X-ray card. What you do next depends on what image is shown on the card.

If the image on the X-ray card matches one of the two images on the ailment card, you will collect the ailment card. You will return the X-ray card to its prior position. If the timer hasn’t gone off yet, you can flip over another ailment card. You will then try to match the new card.

Matched X-Ray
The picture on the X-ray card shows the loaf of bread. The player has found a match. They will take the ailment card. They will then reveal the next ailment card and try to match it.

If the image on the X-ray card does not match one of the images on the ailment card, you will put the X-ray card back in its previous spot. You will then choose another X-ray card to place on the game unit. You will continue choosing new cards until you find one that has one of the items you are looking for.

Non Match X-ray
This X-ray card features a broken heart. As it does not match either of the symbols on the ailment card, it will be returned to the rest of the X-ray cards. The player will choose another card to place on the machine trying to find a match.

Your turn continues until the timer goes off and the lights turn off. You will keep any ailment cards you matched. If you were unable to match an ailment card, it will be placed on the bottom of the ailment card pile.

Play will then pass to the next player.

Operation X-Ray Match Up ends after all of the ailment cards have been matched. The player who collected the most ailment cards wins the game.

Final Score in Operation X-Ray Match Up
