Objective of Gooey Louie

The objective of Gooey Louie is to pick gooeys out of Louie’s nose while avoiding making him sneeze his brains out.

Setup

  • Insert Louie’s head into the base.
  • Open the nose door.
  • Find the gooey with a loop attached to it. Attach the loop to the trigger inside the nose. Should you lose or break the gooey with a loop attached to it, attach a rubber band to one of the longest gooeys. Then attach the rubber band to the trigger.
Attach Gooey to nose
  • Place the rest of the gooeys inside the nose area. Close the nose door.
Add gooeys to nose
  • Pull on the trigger while pulling up on the top of the head. This opens the head. Place the brain inside the head with the brain side on top. Push down on the brain as you close the head latch.

  • Push Louie’s eyes in and close the nose door.
  • The youngest player starts the game. Play will proceed counter-clockwise.

Playing Gooey Louie

You will start your turn by rolling the die. What you roll on the die determines what you will do on your turn.

Rolling a one

Pick one gooey.

Rolling a two

Pick two gooeys.

Roll skip symbol

Skip your turn. You will not pick any gooeys.

Rolling a reverse

Pick one gooey. Turn order will then reverse to the opposite direction. If play order was proceeding counter-clockwise, it will now move clockwise. If it was moving clockwise, it will now move counter-clockwise.

When picking gooeys you can choose any that are still inside Louie’s head. You want to avoid picking the one that is attached to the trigger.

Choosing a gooey in Gooey Louie
The current player has to choose one of the gooeys to remove from Louie’s nose.

When you pick a gooey, you should keep your face away from the top of the head to avoid getting hit by the flying brain.

The current player has chosen this gooey to pick out of the nose.

Once you have picked all of the required gooeys, play passes to the next player in turn order.

Louie Sneezes

Eventually one of the players will pull on the gooey that is attached to the trigger in Louie’s nose. This will open the hatch on the head and Louie’s brain will pop up. In the normal game, the player that makes Louie’s brain pop out loses the game.

You can instead play a couple rounds to determine the winner of the game. When a player makes Louie’s brain pop out, they are eliminated from the game. You will then reset Louie by inserting all of the gooeys back into his nose, and placing the brain back inside his head. All of the players that have not been eliminated yet will play another round.

Getting eliminated in Gooey Louie
The current player pulled the gooey that triggered the brain to pop out of Louie’s head. They are eliminated from the game.

You will keep playing rounds until only one player remains. The last remaining player wins Gooey Louie.
