Battleship Shots Board Game: Rules and Instructions for How to Play

Objective of Battleship Shots

The objective of Battleship Shots is to sink all of your opponent’s ships before they are able to sink yours.

Assembling the Game Board

Open up the Battleship Shots case so both orange side trays touch the table.

Setup for Battleship Shots

Slide the middle blue section up and towards one of the orange side trays.

Game Setup

Flip out the dark blue stands on each side of the blue tray. Insert the blue stands into the orange tray.

Game Setup

Move the other blue tray towards the other side of the board. Flip out the dark blue stands just like the other side of the board.

Setup

Insert the Battleship shield into the middle of the gameboard.

Battleship Shots Setup

Each player takes three gray ships and one yellow life raft. They will choose where they would like to place these ships on their side of the gameboard.

Setup

Divide the balls evenly between the two players.

Place the dark blue stand off to the side of the gameboard. Insert the red ball into the stand.

Playing Battleship Shots

Before you start the game both players need to decide whether you will both shoot at the same time or take turns.

Depending on what you choose you will then start the game.

Each player will either bounce or throw one of their balls over the divider in the middle. The goal is to get your balls to land in one of your opponent’s ships.

Missing A Shot in Battleship Shots
This player has missed their shot.
Made Shot in Battleship Shots
A player has successfully shot one of their balls into this ship.

Should you bounce a ball and it ends up landing on one of your own ships, the ball will stay where it lands. You ended up hitting your own ship.

The Red Ball

The first player to land an orange ball in one of their opponent’s ships or life raft (yellow), takes the red ball.

The player that takes the red ball will have the opportunity to shoot it. If they land the ball into their opponent’s life raft, they will immediately win the game.

Landing the Red Ball in the Life Raft
A player has successfully shot the red ball into their opponent’s life raft. They have won the game.

If it should land in any other ship, it stays there and acts the same as if any other ball landed on the ship.

Red Ball Shot in Battleship Shots
This player has successfully shot the red ball into a gray ship. The ball will stay in the ship. The players will continue shooting the orange balls.

Should the red ball not land on a ship, the players will keep throwing/bouncing it until it lands in a ship. The players do not take turns shooting the red ball. Whoever has the ball, shoots it.

End of Battleship Shots

Battleship Shots can end in one of two ways.

Should a player throw/bounce the red ball into their opponents life raft, they will immediately win the game.

Otherwise the players will keep taking shots. The first player to get a ball into each space of their opponent’s ships and life raft wins the game.

Winning Battleship Shots
All of the ships on the right side have a ball in each of their spots. The player on the left has won the game.

To store the game follow the steps in the setup section in reverse order.
