While I wish the game had better components and relied less on luck, The Last Spike is a fun interesting look at land speculation in the age of railroads.

The biggest problem with the game War was its’ high reliance on luck. Over the years many games have tried to eliminate some of the luck with some succeeding while others have failed miserably. Slapshot slaps a hockey theme on the game of War and does a decent job of fixing some of its’ problems.
