Objective
The objective of UNO Moana 2 is to be the first player to get rid of all of the cards from your hand.
Setup
- Choose a player to be the dealer. The dealer shuffles all of the cards.
- Deal seven cards to each player. You can look at your own cards, but you shouldn’t show them to the other players.
- Place the rest of the cards facedown on the table to form the Draw Pile.
- Take the top card from the Draw Pile and flip it over. This creates the Discard Pile. If the card you flipped over is an Action Card (any card other than a number card), you will ignore its action and flip over another card.
- The player sitting to the left of the dealer starts the game. Play moves clockwise to start the game.
How to Play UNO Moana 2
On each of your turns you will try to play a card from your hand to the Discard Pile. You can play a card if it matches one of three attributes from the top card on the Discard Pile.
- Color
- Number
- Symbol
If you have a card that matches at least one of these attributes, you can play it to the Discard Pile. If you have multiple cards that you can play, you need to choose one of the cards to play. Should you play an Action Card (anything other than a number), you will take a special action. See the corresponding section in our UNO Moana 2 Card Meanings post for more details on what each card does.

If you have a card that you can play, you can choose not to play it. If you choose not to play the card, you will treat the rest of your turn as if you don’t have a playable card in your hand.
After you play a card, your turn ends. Play passes to the next player in turn order.
Drawing a Card
If you don’t have a card that you can play or you don’t want to play it, you will draw the top card from the Draw Pile. If the Draw Pile ever runs out of cards, you will shuffle the Discard Pile in order to form a new Draw Pile.
Look at your new card to see if it matches one of the attributes of the top card on the Discard Pile. If you can play the card you just drew, you can play it immediately. If you can’t play the card, add it to your hand.
After you draw a card, your turn ends. Play passes to the next player in turn order.
Calling UNO
When you only have one card left in your hand you should call out UNO as quickly as possible. This is to let the other players know that you are close to winning the game.

If you fail to say UNO, the other players can challenge you. If they challenge you before the next player takes their turn, you have to draw two cards. Should they not challenge you in time, you don’t have to draw any cards.
Winning UNO Moana 2
The game ends as soon as a player plays the last card from their hand. The player who plays the last card from their hand wins UNO Moana 2.
Scoring
The players could decide to keep score if they would like to play multiple rounds.
When someone plays the last card from their hand, they win the round. If the last played card forces a player to draw cards, they still have to draw the cards. The winner of the hand then collects all of the cards left in the other players’ hands. They will score points for each card they collect.
- Numbers – face value
- Draw Two, Reverse, Skip – 20 points each
- Wild, Wild Draw Four, Wild Wayfinder – 50 points each
The winner records how many points they scored. If none of the players have scored 500 or more total points, another hand is played.

The first player to score 500 or more total points wins the game.
