Objective

The objective of UNO Disney’s Lilo and Stitch is to be the first player to play all of the cards from your hand.

Setup

  • Choose a player to be the dealer. They will shuffle all of the cards.
  • The dealer deals seven cards facedown to each player. You can look at your own cards, but shouldn’t show them to the other players.
  • Place the rest of the cards facedown on the table. These cards become the Draw Pile.
  • Flip over the top card from the Draw Pile and place it next to the Draw Pile to form the Discard Pile. Should you flip over an Action card (any card that isn’t a number), ignore its effect and flip over another card.
  • The player to the left of the dealer starts the game. Play moves clockwise to start the game.

How to Play UNO Disney’s Lilo and Stitch

On your turn you will try to play a card from your hand to the Discard Pile. To play a card it has to match the top card on the Discard Pile in one of three ways.

  • Color
  • Number
  • Symbol

If you have one or more cards in your hand that match one of the above elements of the card on the top of the Discard Pile, you can play the card. You can only play one card on your turn. If you play an Action card, you will take a special action. See our UNO Disney’s Lilo and Stitch Card Meanings post for details on what each card does.

Playing a card to match a purple one card in UNO Disney's Lilo and Stitch
The top card on the Discard Pile is a purple one. Along the bottom are some cards the current player could play on their turn. The purple two could be played because it matches the color. The green one could be played because it matches the number. The final three cards could be played because they are wild.
Playing a card to match a Reverse card
The top card on the Discard Pile is a Reverse card. The current player could play their own Reverse card because it matches the symbol.

Should you have a card in your hand that you can play but you don’t want to play it, you can choose to not play it. You will play the rest of your turn like if you didn’t have a card that you could play.

After you play a card, your turn ends. Play passes to the next player in turn order.

Drawing a Card

If you do not have a card in your hand that you can play or you don’t want to play a card, you will draw the top card from the Draw Pile. Look at the card you just drew. If the card can be played, you can immediately play it to the Discard Pile. Should you not be able to play the card, you will add it to your hand.

Drawing a card in UNO Disney's Lilo and Stitch
This player did not have a card in their hand that they could play. They ended up drawing the blue five. Since it matches the color of the top card from the Discard Pile, they can play it immediately instead of adding it to their hand.

If you chose not to play a card from your hand that you could have played, you can’t change your mind after you draw a card. The only card you can play this turn is the card you just drew.

If the Draw Pile ever runs out of cards, you will shuffle the Discard Pile to form a new Draw Pile.

After you draw a card and either play it or add it to your hand, your turn ends. Play passes to the next player in turn order.

Calling UNO

When you only have one card left in your hand, you need to call out UNO. This is to alert the other players that you are close to winning the game.

Calling UNO when only have one card
This player only has one card left in their hand. They need to call out UNO as quickly as possible in order to avoid a potential penalty.

Should you fail to call out UNO, the other players can call you out. If they call you out before the next player begins their turn, you will have to draw two cards.

Winning the Game

The first player to play the last card from their hand wins UNO Disney’s Lilo and Stitch.

Scoring in UNO Disney’s Lilo and Stitch

If you would like to play more than one hand, you can decide to keep score.

The player who plays the last card from their hand, wins the round. They will collect all of the cards left in the other players hands. While the rules for UNO Disney’s Lilo and Stitch don’t specifically say what happens if the last played card forces a player(s) to draw cards, in most versions of UNO, the player(s) have to draw the cards before the winner collects all of the cards.

The winner then scores points for each card they collect.

  • Numbers – face value
  • Draw Two, Reverse, Skip – 20 points each
  • Wild, Wild Draw Four, Wild Ohana – 50 points each
Scoring in UNO Disney's Lilo and Stitch
The winner of the hand collected these cards from the other player’s hands. They will score points from the cards as follows: The top three number cards are worth 16 points (2 + 5 + 9). The Draw Two, Reverse, and Skip cards are worth 20 points each. Finally the Wild, Wild Draw Four, and Wild Ohana cards are worth 50 points each. The winner scores a total of 226 points this round.

If none of the players have scored a total of 500 points, you will play another hand. The first player to score 500 points wins the game.
