Objective
The objective of Trivial Pursuit World of Harry Potter Ultimate Edition is to collect a wedge of each color and then answer a final question correctly.
Setup
- Place the gameboard in the middle of the table.
- Set the cards, die, and wedges next to the board.
- Each player chooses a playing piece and places it on the center space.
- All of the players roll the die. The player that rolls the highest number starts the game.

How to Play Trivial Pursuit World of Harry Potter Ultimate Edition
To begin your turn you will roll the die. The number you roll determines how many spaces you can move your playing piece. You can move in any direction. The rules don’t specifically say that you can’t move over the same space multiple times on the same turn. Most versions of Trivial Pursuit specifically disallow this, so I am assuming it is not allowed in Trivial Pursuit World of Harry Potter Ultimate Edition.

After you move your playing piece, check the space you landed on. If you landed on a “Roll Again” space, you will roll the die right away and move to a new space.

Should you land on any other space, the player on your left draws a card. They will look at the color of the space, and reads the corresponding question to you. The color/categories in the game are as follows:
- Blue: Hogwarts, Other Locations, and Transportation
- Green: Slytherin House, Death Eaters, and the Dark Arts
- Orange: Animals, Magical Creatures, and Magical Beings
- Pink: Witches, Wizards, Ghosts, and Muggles
- Purple: Spells, Potions, and Other Magic
- Yellow: Objects & Artifacts
After the player reads the question, you will try to provide the correct answer.

If you answer correctly, look at the space that your pawn is on. If the space features a wedge on it, see if you already have that color wedge. Should you not have that color wedge, take one of corresponding colored wedges and add it to your playing piece. If you already have the color, you will take no special action. You will then take another turn rolling the die and moving your playing piece.

Should you answer correctly but there is not a wedge on the space, you will take another turn. Roll the die and move your playing piece. Then try to answer a question corresponding to your current space.
When you answer incorrectly, your turn ends. Play passes to the next player. The game does not specify if play passes clockwise or counter-clockwise.
Winning the Game
Players will keep taking turns moving around the board and collecting wedges. Once a player has collected a wedge of each color, they will try to reach the center of the board. You must reach the center space by exact count.

When you reach the center space, the rest of the players will choose a category for your final question. They should do this before they look at the card they draw.
If you don’t know the correct answer, your turn ends. Play continues with the next player. On your next turn you can try another final question to try and win the game.
Should you answer the final question correctly, you win Trivial Pursuit World of Harry Potter Ultimate Edition.

Quicker Game
If you would like the game to play quicker, you can tweak the rules. Normally you only get a wedge if you correctly answer a question on a wedge space. In the quicker game, you can take a color wedge whenever you correctly answer a question. You will take the wedge corresponding to the color that your playing piece is on.
