Objective

The objective of That’s What She Said is to be the first player to collect five setup cards by providing the best answers for setup cards.

Setup

  • Separate the red and white cards.
  • Shuffle each set of cards and place them face-down on the table in separate piles.
  • Each player draws five white phrase cards and adds them to their hand.
  • The player that is the “kinkiest” will be the first Judge.

How to Play That’s What She Said

The current Judge draws a red setup card and reads it out loud to the group.

Setup card
For this round the Judge drew this setup card. The rest of the players will have to submit a card for “The worst pickup line I’ve ever heard in a bar was _________.”

All of the players will then look through the cards in their hand. They will pick one card from their hand that they think is the funniest when paired with the setup card. When you have chosen your card, you will place it face-down on the table.

Playing a card
For the worst pickup setup card, one of the players have chosen to play “the force is strong with this one”.

Once everyone has chosen their card, the Judge picks up all of the chosen cards and mixes them up. This is done so they don’t know which player submitted each card.

Choosing the Best Response

The Judge then re-reads the red setup card along with all of the submitted cards. The Judge picks which of the submitted cards they thought was funniest. They can use whatever criteria they want to determine which is the funniest. The player that submitted the card chosen as the funniest takes the round’s setup card which counts as a point.

Choosing the best submitted answer
The players have submitted cards for the worst pickup line. The Judge picks which of the cards that they think is the funniest for this setup. They will give the setup card to the player who submitted the funniest card.

All of the players besides the Judge choose one card from their hand that they don’t like. They will discard the card they don’t like. They will then draw two new white cards to add to their hand. The next player in clockwise order then becomes the Judge for the next round.
