Setup
- Sort the cards by their types. Shuffle each set of cards separately.
- Place each set of cards facedown on the table.
- Each player takes a Dry Erase Card.
- You either need a phone or a timer that you can set for 90 seconds.
- The player that is most likely to make a situation awkward starts the game as the judge.
How to Play Same, Same, But Different
Same, Same, But Different is played over a number of rounds. Each round begins with the judge drawing one Safe Card and one Risky Card. They will read off both cards and place them in the middle of the table so all of the players can see them.

After the judge reads off the cards, they will start the 90 second timer. Once the timer begins all of the players have to come up with something that you can say in the situations on both of the cards in the middle of the table. When you come up with an answer, you will write it down on your Dry Erase Card.

When the timer runs out all of the players will pass their Dry Erase Card to the judge facedown. The judge should mix up the cards so they don’t know who wrote down each answer.
The judge then reads out loud all of the answers. After reading all of the answers, they will choose which answer they thought was best. The judge can use whatever criteria they want to determine the best answer. Whoever submitted the answer that the judge thought was best, earns one point.

The player to the left of the judge then becomes the judge for the next round. For the next round a new Safe and Risky Card are used.
Winning the Game
The first player to earn ten points wins the game.
