Each player sits on one side of the board. Take the paddle that corresponds to the side of the board that you are sitting on.

Setup in Pickleball Blast!

Turn the score dials for both colors to zero. Each player flips all of the pickle jars so the lid side is visible. The youngest player gets to serve to start the game.

How to Play Pickleball Blast!

The player that is going to serve the pickle lines their paddle underneath the pickle. They will press the button on their paddle which should launch the pickle towards the other side of the board.

Preparing to hit the pickle
The orange player is ready to serve the pickle. When they are ready they will press the button on their paddle which should launch the pickle to the other side of the court.

If the player serving the pickle fails to hit it over the net, the other team scores a point.

After the pickle has been served, the player on the other side of the field tries to hit it back. You can only hit the pickle when it is on your side of the court. You can only hit the pickle with the face of the paddle, and you can only use the button on the paddle to hit the pickle. Normally you can lift the paddle off the table to hit the pickle. To make the game more difficult though, you can choose to add a rule that the paddle has to touch the table at all times.

Scoring Points

When hitting the pickle you want to try and aim it so it hits the other player’s jars. When the pickle hits one of the jars it should flip over the lid to the pickle side. If a pickle ends up flipping over a jar from the pickle to the lid side, the jar is considered to be on the lid side.

Flipping one of the jars
The orange player hit one of the purple player’s jars with the pickle. The top of the jar has flipped to the pickle side.

Should a player flip over two of their opponents lids to the pickle face side, they win the point. They will add one point to their score on the score slider. All of the jars are then flipped to the lid side. The player who lost the last point gets to serve the pickle to start the next round.

Winning the Game

Should you want to play another game, the player that lost the last game serves to start the next game.
