Setup for Milk & Cookies

How to Play Milk & Cookies

To begin your turn you will take one of the cookies from the cookie jar.

Choose one of the four milk glasses to dunk your cookie into. A sound will then play. What you do next depends on the sound that plays.

If you hear a “boing” sound, the glass you dunked the cookie in didn’t have any milk. Players should remember that this glass doesn’t have any milk in it. It will remain this way until someone finds the milk which resets which glass has the milk. Return the cookie you picked up this turn to the cookie jar.

When the game unit says “Mmmooo”, you have found the milk. Take the cookie and place it on your plate. Since you found the milk, you immediately get to take another turn. The milk automatically moves to another glass.

Taking a cookie
After putting the cookie into one of the glasses, the moo sound was played. The player gets to take the cookie and place it on their plate. They also get to try and take another cookie.

Finally the game unit could say “Mmmooo” and play a cowbell. When this happens all of the other players place their hands on top of their plates. They are trying to cover up their cookies so you can’t see how many they have. By picking this glass you have the choice of swapping your plate and the cookies on it with one of the other players’ plates. You have to try and remember how many cookies the other players had. If you choose to swap with another player, you will swap your plates and all of the cookies on them. You can also choose to keep your own plate, and not swap with another player.

Trading plates
The player on the left picked a glass that played the moo and cowbell sound. They can trade their plate of cookies with another player. They chose the player on the right which ended up having four cookies. The two players will exchange their plates of cookies.

After you take the action based on the sound from the glass you chose, your turn ends. Play passes to the player on your left.

Winning the Game

The game ends once the players have taken all of the cookies and added them to their plates. The players count up how many cookies they collected during the game. The player with the most cookies wins the game. If multiple players are tied for the most cookies, all of the tied players win the game.

Winning Milk & Cookies
The top player acquired the most cookies during the game. They win the game.

Simpler Game

If you are playing with younger children you can choose to play the simpler version of Milk & Cookies. The goal of this version of the game is to be the first player to collect five cookies.

Most of the rules are the same as the main game.

When you hear the “Mmmooo and Cowbell” sound though, the players don’t cover their plates. The player who picked the glass that made the sound takes the cookie they they used and adds it to their plate. The player then takes another cookie from the jar and adds it to the plate. Then starting with the player on their left, each other player takes a cookie and adds it to their plate.

The game ends when the first player collects their fifth cookie. They win the game. Due to the “Mmmooo and Cowbell” sound, you can win the game on another player’s turn.
