After you have finished shuffling the bottom half of the deck, place it underneath the top half of the deck. Place the deck of Dog Cards face-up on the table.
- Shuffle all of the Playing Cards. Deal four cards to each player. Players can look at the cards they are dealt, but they shouldn’t show them to the other players. The remaining Playing Cards and placed in a facedown pile next to the Dog Deck.
- The stinkiest player starts the game. Otherwise you can let the youngest player start the game.
How to Play Farting Frenchies
To begin each of your turns you will draw one card from the Playing Card deck. Add the card to your hand. Should the draw pile ever run out of cards, shuffle the discard pile to create a new draw pile.
After you draw a card, you will take one of the following actions:
- Play a stinky card next to your dog.
- Place a good smell/diffuse card on top of an opponent’s dog.
- Use a special action card for its effect.
- Discard a card.
After you have taken your action, your turn ends.
Instead of taking your normal turn, you can choose to discard your entire hand in order to draw four new cards. If you choose this action, you won’t draw a card at the start of your turn.
Play A Stinky Card
The goal of Farting Frenchies is to play stink cards to your dog’s in order to collect them.
For your action you can choose to play a stink card to your own dog. When you play a stink card, the color of the card does not matter.

Should you play a number of stink cards equal to the value of your current dog card, you will collect your dog. This only includes stink cards that haven’t been covered up by a “diffuse” card. When you collect your dog, you will discard all of the cards played on the dog card. You will then flip over the dog card and place it in your score pile.

After you flip over your current dog card, you will take the top card from the Dog Deck and place it in front of you. This is the new dog that you will try to collect.
Place a Good Smell/Diffuse Card
Instead of playing a stink card to your own dog, you can choose to play a good smell/diffuse card on top of another player’s dog. These cards are used to cancel out stink cards played to a dog. When playing a diffuse card, you can only play it on top of a stink card that matches its color.

Use a Special Action Card
When you play a special action card, you will take a special action. Each card lets the player who played it take a different action.

Dognapper/Bacon Air Biscuits/Other Steal Cards
This group of Steal cards allow you to choose another player. You will take one of the dogs from their score pile and add it to your score pile.

Toot-a-loo Smells
When you play a Toot-a-loo Smells card, you will take all of the Good Smell cards from your dog and discard them.

Fart Blaster
The Fart Blaster card gives the player who plays it the ability to play two additional cards on their turn. After each time you play a card, you will draw new cards until you have four cards left in your hand.

Can’t Resist the Hydrant
When you play the Can’t Resist the Hyrdrant card, the next player in turn order loses their turn.

Just Say NOse/No Cards
When someone else plays a card that you want to block, you can choose to play a Just Say NOse/No card. This cancels the effect of the card played by the other player. You can play one of these cards even if you aren’t affected by the card you want to block.

You can also use one of these cards to cancel another Just Say NOse/No card.

Players cannot use No cards to cancel the End Card or a Cancel the End card.

Old Dog, New Trick
When an End Card is revealed and you don’t want the game to end, you can choose to play a Old Dog, New Trick card. You will discard both the End Card and the Old Dog, New Trick card. The players will keep playing until either another End Card is revealed (that isn’t blocked by a Old Dog, New Trick card) or the last card is taken from the deck.

End of Game
The end game is triggered when a player takes a new dog and a End Card is revealed as the new top card on the draw pile.

When this happens all of the players have the opportunity to cancel the end of the game by playing a “Cancel the End” card. You cannot cancel the end of the game with a “NO” card. If a player plays a Cancel the End card, the end game is canceled. The Cancel the End and End Card are discarded. The players will keep playing until a new End Card is revealed or all of the cards from the deck are taken.
When the game ends, all of the players count up the values of the dogs they collected in their score pile during the game. The player that collected the dogs worth the most points, wins the game.

Team Play/VS
For this variant game the players can divide into teams (at max two players per team). Each team has to have the same number of players. Each team will try to collect their own breed of dogs. For each expansion you own, you can play with one additional team. Players on the same team should sit next to one another.
Setup
You will use the following cards for the Team Play game:
Cards from Farting Frenchies
- Choose 3 Level 5 Dog Cards
- Choose 6 Level 4 Dog Cards
- Choose 3 Level 3 Dog Cards
- Choose 2 Level 2 Dog Cards
- Choose 1 End Card
- Use all Stink, Diffuse, and Action Cards
Add one complete expansion pack for each team
Find all of the End Card(s) and set them aside. Combine the cards from the base game and any expansion packs. Separate the Dog Cards from the rest of the cards. Each player takes a Dog Card of Level 3 that matches their team’s dog breed. For example Team Frenchies should start with a Level 3 Frenchie.
Then shuffle the Dog Cards. Split the Dog Card deck into two. Place the End Card(s) into the bottom half of the deck, and shuffle the bottom half again. Place the bottom half of the deck below the top half of the deck. Set the deck of cards face-up in the middle of the table.
Shuffle all of the Playing Cards. Deal four cards to each player. Place the rest of the cards face down on the table.
The stinkiest player’s team starts the game. You could also let the youngest player start the game.
How to Play Farting Frenchies Team Play/VS
The gameplay is mostly the same as the base game. There are a couple tweaks to the rules though.
Players on the same team can show their hand to their teammate. You can play stink cards on top of your own dog, or your teammate’s dog.
You can collect dogs of your own breed, or the other teams’ breeds. Any dog you collect of your own breed is worth points equal to the level of the dog. If you collect a dog of another team’s breed, it is only worth one point.
The game does not say the order in which turns are taken. I would assume teams alternate turns.
The team with the most points at the end of the game, wins Farting Frenchies.
