How to Play Drop Trivia
Trivial Pursuit Drop Trivia consists of four rounds. Each round can have up to three turns.
- Turn 1 (60 seconds): The tower announces which team starts.
- Turn 2 (45 seconds): The other team gets to play.
- Turn 3 (30 seconds): The first team gets to take a second turn.
To begin each round you will draw one of the cards and place it in the slot at the top of the tower. One of the players reads the topic, the top and bottom labels, and the six answers. The answer is on the back of the card so you should make sure not to look at the back of the card.

The tower will tell you to enter the card code. At the top of the card are four different color circles. You should drop the corresponding colored pucks into the tower starting with the circle on the left. If you make a mistake, hold the Start button for 3 seconds and remove all of the pucks from the tower.

After the tower confirms the code, you will press and hold the yellow triangle button to release all of the pucks. You will then press the Start button. This starts the first round.
Placing Pucks Into the Tower
The tower will count down “3, 2, 1, Go!”. You cannot touch the pucks until your hear “go”. Should you drop a puck into the tower before “go”, your team forfeits their turn. Release the pucks from the tower and pass them to the other team.
All of the players can discuss the current question and all of the answers. In Drop Trivia you need to sort the answers based on the question and the labels at the top and bottom of the card. The bottom label indicates which pucks you should place first in the tower. The top label indicates which pucks you should place last.
As the players discuss the answers, they can arrange the pucks on the table in the order that they think they should be placed in the tower. When the players are ready they can start inserting the pucks into the top of the tower. They should place the puck that matches the bottom label first. Then they should place the puck that is second closest to the bottom label. This continues until the team has placed all of the pucks into the tower.
For example the bottom label says fewest. You will try to figure out whichever answer is the fewest and place it first into the tower. Next you will choose the answer with the second fewest and add it to the tower. This continues until you place the last puck which is the one that you think has the most.
Once you place a puck in the tower, you cannot remove it. If you try to remove a puck from the tower, your team forfeits its turn. You will press and hold the Start button for three seconds and release the pucks from the tower.
Scoring
Your turn ends when you either place all six pucks, or you run out of time. You don’t have to place all six pucks, but you should try to as you don’t lose any points for incorrect guesses.
The tower then scores your answers. It will start with the top slot. If you put the right puck in the slot, you will hear a “ding” sound and you will score one point if you are the first team to correctly place that answer. Should that answer have already been scored, you will still hear the ding, but you won’t score a point. If the answer is wrong or you didn’t put any pucks in the position, you will hear a “buzz” sound, and you won’t score any points. If you want to hear what answer you got wrong and right again, press and hold the Start button for three seconds before you release the pucks.

After the tower is done scoring the answers, you will push the yellow triangle to release the pucks. Press the Start button in order to start the next turn. Quickly pass the pucks to the other team as they will take the next turn. You should mix up the pucks when passing them so the other team may not know exactly what order you used on your turn.
The round ends when either a team gets all six answers correct, or the third turn is completed. The tower will announce which team won the current round. If you have not played four rounds, you will play another round. Release the pucks from the tower and press the Start button to start the next round. Setup for this next round will be the same as the first round.
Winning the Game
The game ends after four rounds have been played. The tower will tally the points scored by both teams over the four rounds. The team that has scored more points wins Drop Trivia.
If there is a tie, the players can either share the victory, or play another game to break the tie.
When you are done playing the game, you should release all of the pucks from the tower, and switch the tower to off.
Solo Game
While Trivial Pursuit Drop Trivia is meant as a team game, you can choose to play the game solo or cooperatively.
To play the game solo/cooperative, turn the switch to On. When the game turns on press and hold the Start button for three seconds.
The gameplay is basically the same as the competitive game except that you will play three rounds instead of four. The goal of the game is to score as close to 18 points as you can.
