Playing the Game

If there are more than two players, the players will have to divide into two teams.

The players will countdown “1-2-3 Bounce”. At this time both players will start playing at the same time. There are no turns in the game so players can play as quickly or as slowly as they want.

To shoot one of your balls you will bounce it off the table. The ball must bounce at least once before it goes into the grid.

Bounding A Ball in Connect 4 Shots
The yellow player has successfully bounced one of their balls into the grid.

You may pick up any balls that miss the grid or bounce out of it. Once a ball lands and stays inside the grid or ramp though, you may not touch it.

Bouncing Balls Into the Grid
At this point both the yellow and red players have bounced two balls into the grid.

Winning Connect 4: Shots

Connect 4: Shots can end in one of two ways.

If one of the players has bounced four balls in a row inside the grid, that player has won the game. You can win with four balls in a row vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. Balls will only count if they are inside the grid. Balls in the ramp above the grid do not count.

Winning Vertically in Connect 4 Shots
The yellow player has gotten four of their balls in a row along the right side of the grid. They have won the game.
Winning Horizontally in Connect 4 Shots
The red player has won the game by getting four balls in a row horizontally in the second row.
Winning Diagonally in Connect 4 Shots
Four red balls are in a row diagonally. The red player has won the game.

If both players have bounced all of their balls into the grid and neither player has four in a row, the game will go to the tiebreaker.

The player that bounced all of their balls into the grid first gets to bounce the tiebreaker ball (orange ball) first.

Should they get the tiebreaker ball into the grid (not the ramp), they will win the game. If they don’t, the other player gets to take a turn bouncing the ball. The first player to get the tiebreaker ball into the grid wins the game.

Winning the Tiebreaker in Connect 4 Shots
One of the players have successfully bounced the orange ball into the grid. They have won the game.

When you are done playing Connect 4: Shots, follow the setup steps in reverse in order to store the game.
