How to Play Buildzi
Buildzi contains a few different games that you can play with the components. Each of these games share some of the same rules, but are played differently. The following rules apply to all of the Buildzi games.
The game is played as a speed game. Therefore there are no turns in the game. All of the players play at the same time trying to complete their tower before the other players.
When stacking blocks you must stack them vertically. Each block is placed on top of one another to create a vertical tower.
Tower Card Buildzi
In this game you will place all of the blocks in a pile in the middle of the table. Each player randomly takes a tower card and places it so they can only see the yellow/black side.
When everyone is ready, one player says “Go”. All of the players them flip over their tower card at the same time. This will show a picture of a constructed tower with all of the blocks in different colors. The tower shown on each players’ card shows what tower that player has to build.

All of the players then race to grab blocks from the center pile and recreate their tower in front of them.
When a player completes their tower (with it remaining upright), they shout out “Buildzi”. The other players verify that they built the tower correctly. If they built the tower correctly, they win the game.

To make the game more challenging, the players can play using the yellow/black side. These towers are more difficult to build as they don’t show the colors of each block used in the tower.
Block Card Buildzi
Put all of the blocks in a pile in the middle of the table.
Each player gets a complete set of eight block cards (each set is a different color). Each player shuffles their cards and places them in a face down pile in front of themselves.
When everyone is ready, someone says “GO”. At this time all of the players start playing. There are no turns as players try to build their towers as quickly as possible. You will begin by flipping over the top card from your pile. Grab the corresponding block and place it on the table. This is the only block in your tower that can touch the table.

After you place your first block, you will flip over the next card. You will place the corresponding block on top of the first block you placed. You will continue flipping over cards, and placing the corresponding block on your tower.
When you complete your tower, you will shout out “Buildzi”. The other players will verify that you built your tower correctly. If you built the tower correctly, you win the game.

Shuffle Card Buildzi
Place all of the Buildzi blocks in the middle of the table.
Gather up all of the block cards and shuffle them together. Deal eight cards randomly face down to each player.
When everyone is ready, someone says “GO”. Everyone immediately flips over their top card. You will grab one of the blocks from the middle of the table that matches the card that you flipped over. You will place the block in front of you to start your tower. This is the only block that can touch the table.

After you place your first block, you will flip over your next card. You will grab the corresponding block and place it on top of the first block. You will continue flipping over cards and placing the corresponding block on the top of the tower.
When you have placed all of the blocks from your cards, you will shout out “Buildzi”. The other players will then verify that you built your tower correctly. If you built it correctly, you win the game.

Team Buildzi
In this game the players will divide into two player teams. Teammates should sit on opposite sides of the table. One player on each team is the Caller, and the other player is the Builder.
Each Builder gathers one block of each color and places them in front of themselves. Each Caller takes one tower card and places it face down (yellow/black side face up) in front of themselves.
When everyone is ready someone says “Go”. All of the Callers flip over their tower card at the same time. They should flip the card where only they can see the design and not their teammate.
The Caller is the only player on each team that can see the design on the card. They need to give directions to their teammate in order to guide them to create the design from the card. There really aren’t any rules on what directions you can give your teammate. A Caller can never show the card to their teammate though.

The first team that successfully creates their tower wins the game.

Countdown Buildzi
Evenly divide the blocks between all of the players. One player sets up a timer for one minute. The player that sets the timer starts the game.
The first player takes one of the blocks from their pile and places it flat on the table so a majority of the block touches the table. This is the only block that can lay flat in the tower.

The player to their left then chooses a block and places it on top of the first block. The players will keep taking turns choosing a block and adding it to the tower. You want to choose and place a block quickly as you don’t want the timer to run out on your turn.
The game ends when either the timer runs out or a player knocks one or more blocks down on their turn. The player that knocks off a block(s) or has the timer expire on their turn, loses the game.

Together Buildzi
In this game all of the players are playing together. This game is not a speed game so the players can take their time.
Choose a player to go first. They will choose one of the blocks and lays it flat on the table so a majority of the block touches the table. This is the only block that can be placed flat.

The player to their left then chooses a block and places it on top of the previous block. This continues with the players taking turns adding another block to the tower.
The game ends when a player tries to place a block and the tower falls down. The players will count up how many blocks they were able to add before the tower fell down.

Buildzi Party of One
There are four different ways you can play Buildzi solo.
First you can choose a tower card and time how quickly you can build the tower. You will try to beat you previous fastest time for the card.
Next you can stack the blocks and try to create as tall of tower as you can before it tips over.
You could challenge yourself to try to use as many blocks as you can in a tower.
Finally you can just lay out the blocks in order to make various designs.
